The current first batch of Barcelona chips wont clock higher than 2.5 GHz. Many will say that this was the original plan all along but AMD needs more than 2.5 GHz to go against 3.0 or 3.2 GHz Penryn with FSB 1333.

Not long after the news emerges, our forum member Voltron is already doing the benches from his living room's entertainment pc.
"Well from the early benches I found out that Safari is on par with firefox 2.0.0.4 and IE7 in overall performance. IE 7 is the best for start up.. a whopping 2.8 seconds. We will see what happens next in CSS benches. that's all for today..."

We received another words from AMD@Penang (an anonymous who claimed to be working in AMD's manufacturing facility in Penang, Malaysia) said with a simple message that AMD's Barcelona core is ready which in other words has completed all quality control tests as we may say. We have also got hints that the launch speed of Barcelona will be varied from 2.2Ghz to 3.0Ghz.

In Windows Vista, there are lots of files and directories especially those operating system files plus Windows and Windows\System32 folders have been protected. These protected system files aren’t belong to any users or groups, instead are owned by TrustedInstaller, with even Administrator or Administrators group doesn’t have modify or write access to them. Thus if you intend to manipulate or replace the files, you’ll encounter access denied error even though you are administrator and have disabled UAC or already in elevation mode for the application trying to access.

There are files and directories in Windows Vista that seem to impossible to delete and remove away. These persistent undeletable files and folders sometimes can’t even be accessed no matter what, even by an administrator, and you’re pretty sure that the files are not locked by running process. This situation always happen especially if you perform in-place upgrade from Windows XP or install Windows Vista on another partition or hard disk drive, leaving the old XP used partition with its own data.
The problem symptom occurs because the undeletable files and folders’ ACLs (Access Control Lists) were set for accounts with SIDs that applied to an old partition. So these data will effectively owned by nobody or non-existent user when view in Vista operating system. In order to access the file for manipulation, modification or deletion, we will need to take control of the files under Vista.
We can use 2 command-line utilities to take ownership of the files or folders, and then grant full control access permissions to Administrators group, which supposedly you’re a member of. The 2 command line syntaxes are as below. Note that the full path should be included if you’re not at the current directory, and to run these commands, command prompt has to be in elevated mode.

In a demonstration held in San Francisco, AMD's Allen did not mention more details about the head to head performance between AMD's next-generation server processor called Barcelona but he did mention a tip. This tip was a sort of a challenge AMD made for Intel's current offering. He said in the tip that Barcelona will be the best x86 processor in the market and it will blow away Intel's Clovertown. For us at least it reflects of how powerful K10 will be.
